THE ESTATE YOUR MILLION DOLLAR OPPORTUNITY???!!...In this huge Estate of Gold, Silver and Gemstones, Currency and Coins, Art and Antiques, ...YOU GET EVERYTHING YOU SEE IN THIS LISTING! Massive, MASSIVE Value, ALL for ONE Bid! MANY SECTIONS TO FOLLOW... PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME! EVERYTHING YOU SEE GOES TO JUST ONE LUCKY WINNER!! $$ Old Currency Collection $$ TREMENDOUS VALUE...OLDEST, 1777 !! SOME real nice US & Russian material mostly, some larger notes too, including a few extremely scarce pieces in this collection, be sure to read below. There's BLUE seals, Brown, Green, Gold, and Red... POSSIBLY THE NICEST CURRENCY COLLECTION WE HAVE EVER OFFERED IN OVER A DECADE OF SELLING ON EBAY! Unless you are a serious currency collector, you may not know how RARE old 1914 Federal Reserve Notes are. According to the Gengerke census, 1914 FRNs are some of the rarest notes of all US issues, of all time. Many are scarce in any grade, and there are TWO in this collection, a $10 and a $50! DID YOU KNOW that $50 FRNs are almost as rare as $100's? Only 8% of large blue seal FRNs are $50's. But it gets even better! Our particular $10 is really rare!! SUPER RARE!! ONLY 10 KNOWN TO EXIST, IN ALL GRADES!!! The 1914 Atlanta $10 FRN here is ridiculously scarce. Our Gengerke census may be a few years old, but it shows only a scant TEN known!! Of course, few of these ever surface anymore, at this late date, these were issued so long ago. We have the Freidberg number as 926 for those inclined to look it up. BETHLEHEM $10 National, Very Desirable, 39 Known... National Currency can be just as rare as 1914 FRNs, but there is one other thing about them that often has collectors stumbling over each other. Because the name of the issuing bank is so prominent, many collectors will target special place names, or one that has some significance. Not only a scarce note, but due to it's name, it is especially sought-after. Get this one in time for Christmas!! * * * * * THE FINEST KNOWN 1969 "C" NOTE !! Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) has certified this 1969C Atlanta $100 note as GEM UNCIRCULATED 66, and there are no finer notes known, you will shortly own the best of the best, none finer exist!! A Rare Hawaii $5, and a $10 North Africa!! These are enormously popular, and quite rare. The $5 is the rarest of all Hawaii notes, much, much scarcer than $1's, or even $20's. And the North Africa notes are captivating with their dual gold and blue colors, also very scarce, you hardly ever see them! More National, and even a post-Civil War Fractional GENUINE CONTINENTAL CURRENCY, 1777, CERTIFIED BY PCGS Not just currency, but a piece of history. Did George Washington, or Benjamin Franklin once hold this bill? It is possible! But besides dating back to the foundation of the USA, this note is in incredible rare condition! PCGS has given it a grade of "63", which for Continental Currency is very rare indeed. Imagine going to the bank, and getting a crisp uncirculated bill, and then, you decide to put it away to keep it pristine, and 231 YEARS from now, someone finds it, and it is just as nice as when it was put away. The note is hand-signed, twice, and even the serial number is in ink. By the way, PCGS uses the term "apparent" when an alteration to a bill is noted. In this case, the punch holes were repaired, as was common in the old days of currency collecting. Most Continental Currency was of course cancelled, and punch holes were put through them, this was entirely normal, but these days, collectors tend to almost prefer a note unaltered. However, when you see one so professionally done, to where you can't almost tell, except by turning it over, it is a desirable specimen indeed. Which is why it was sent to PCGS to be slabbed. A very pricey note in high grades of course, but obviously the hole-repair has kept it out of the stratosphere. Just a fantastic note for the investor and collector! RARE "STAR" NOTES FROM THE 1950's...$100 VIRTUALLY CRISP UNC!! WHO STUCK THIS "CUBA" $1,000 IN HERE?? ACTUALLY, when this note was issued, it was at PAR with the US Dollar!! This bill "cost" $1,000 USD in the 1950's, when the island of Cuba was still a haven for those rich and famous who loved casinos, fine cigars, and the Caribbean climate. But who could afford to just take one of these babies home as a souvenir?? How about AMON G. CARTER, JR.? This Fort Worth, Texas currency collector amassed one of the greatest currency collections of all time before his death in 1982. This note has it's pedigree to this collection (serial number A084065A). By the way, Carter could definitely afford this souvenir. Some of the older folks out there might recall that Mr. Carter also owned a little company called, AMERICAN AIRLINES... --------------------------------- MOTHER RUSSIA...OVER 100 OLD RUSSIAN NOTES MANY OVER A CENTURY OLD... NO, this is not an area we are knowledgeable about, we have never offered a Russian currency collection before, so please look these up if you can, there might be something rare here. We note that the large note with the Empress on it seems to be a 1,000 denomination. This is simply an enormous sum in pre-revolutionary rubles! The Gold equivalent today, at the approximate 40 rubles per ounce of gold at that time would translate to a value today of almost $19,000 USD!!! No, we're not saying it is worth that of course, as we said, this is not our usual offering, but it is interesting to make these calculations, for fun if nothing else. It also suggests that not many of these bills could have been around perhaps, just our thoughts. Also, in stumbling around eBay, looking to compare anything, a few of these bills can be found on eBay. A couple seem to be "Siberia", but we can't really read Russian of course. Common bills on eBay are only selling for $5 or $10 each, but do remember, there are over a HUNDRED Russian bills here! Even if nothing turned out to be so rare, at liquidation, we have to think there is still ENORMOUS VALUE in this large collection! SIMPLY THEE NICEST OLD CURRENCY COLLECTION WE HAVE EVER OFFERED!! HUGE VALUE!! $$ DON'T LET IT SLIP AWAY!!! $$ Mother Russia... No, St. Basil's Cathedral is not included in this lot, but everything else is!! COMRADE LENIN!! Lenin was the driving force behind the Revolution and is still highly regarded today in Russia. It's true that the Berlin Wall has fallen, but while Stalin has been discarded, Lenin continues to occupy a central role in recent Russian thinking. As the whole world leans ever more Socialist, Lenin may indeed loom large as history is written. The bust of Lenin here is inscribed, but we have no idea of what the inscription says. The large original oil painting of Lenin...more on that later. KGB... Better Red than dead? Well, smokers might enjoy putting their cigarettes in this KGB cigarette case, with lighter. Dead? Eventually, tobacco will kill you! 1955 PULITZER PRIZE WINNER H. E. SALISBURY COVER, FROM RUSSIA, WITH LOVE!! Here an incredible piece of history, a cover, with note enclosed, from one of the greatest names in journalism! Sent from the famous Hotel Metropole in Moscow in 1950, it is addressed to New York Times managing editor Edwin James! Take a look/font> Mr. Harrison Evans Salisbury (1908 1993) won the Pulitzer Prize in 1955 for playing perhaps the most important historical role in interpreting the Soviet Union for English-speaking readers of the world. The famous American journalist for the United Press found himself right in the middle of the Cold War, because he had been sent to Moscow in 1944 while the Soviet Union was still technically a US ally. Of course, with Stalin in power, he found himself continually censored and couldn really get the full message out until his return to the US in 1954. In a series of scathing articles released upon his return, he revealed to the world what the Kremlin and Josef Stalin were really about, helping to ignite Western fears of Communism that were not being helped by the nuclear proliferation that formed the backdrop to the intense drama. Salisbury is certainly one of the more famous international news reporters of that era, but his career was hardly over. VIETNAM. In 1971 Salisbury, working for the Times, was again the center of controversy as the entagon Paperswere published. Then President Nixon objected strenuously, and it went to the Supreme Court, where they ruled that the public was in fact entitled to this lassifiedinformation about US involvement in Vietnam. Few realize that this was probably the tipping point in anti-war sentiment that culminated in the US pull-out a few years later. Quite frankly, it is hard to overstate the importance of Salisbury, not merely as a journalist, but as a major player in world history. Mr. Edwin Leland James was managing editor for the New York Times until his death in 1951. Originally the European war correspondent for the Times, he worked hard, climbed the ladder, and eventually occupied the big office of managing editor for one of the world most important newspapers. Our cover here, in a New York Times airmail envelope also has some interesting stampings on it, but the note inside is interesting too. Written on half a memo sheet from E. L. James, one notation is addressed to itty(could be Kitty Brown, on staff at the Times, possible traveling companion, four years younger than James). Another notation is simply signed . and references a S Diplomatic Pouch (which would have been necessary for many communications). On the reverse, there is another notation to ib(from Kit) that further explains, and mentions Salisbury in Moscow, and that the letter was deposited with the Embassy instead of going through ordinary mail originally, and was only put into the mail by the State Dept in Washington, to be mailed to New York. As mentioned above, Salisbury was being censored, probably considered a pyby the Soviets, and the diplomatic pouch was the only way certain information could escape the USSR at that time. Even so, Salisbury had to be careful, knowing well that he could easily have an ccidentand never make it home if he stepped out of line too much. As it was, he waited until he came back in 1954 to really tell his story, and the world has never been the same since. Dated 1950, this is only 5 years before winning journalism most prestigious award, and deservedly so. Certainly an interesting piece of Cold War and Journalism history! HUNDREDS of Pins / Medals!! An awesome collection, almost everything is different!! EARTH'S FIRST ASTRONAUT... ACTUALLY, THAT WOULD BE COSMONAUT. YURI GAGARIN captured the world's imagination, and then their hearts, as the first human in space. This is an an old historic newspaper (does that say "Pravda" in Russian?) from the day he died, prematurely in a horrible plane crash. He was only 36. Controversy surrounds Gagarin to this day, as many claim that he was murdered, and that it was made to look like an accident. But why? The conspiracy theory goes that Gagarin never actually made it into space at all. Instead, the Russian space program was plagued by accidents that didn't make anyone look too good, and so a new strategy was devised to find a person who would be the perfect hero, strictly for public consumption, without the annoying risk of dying during a mission. Devastating good looks, a charming personality, Gagarin seemed the perfect choice for such a public relations ploy. As the years went on, apparently Gagarin wasn't too happy about his role, and turned to heavy drinking, and perhaps even a bit of extortion. Yes, he theoretically could blow the whistle on the whole world of phony space programs, BUT, the powers that be simply weren't going to let that happen. At some point, the decision was made to eliminate the "loose end", and as a bonus, the country would gain a permanent hero, and Gagarin would enter that pantheon ever young as well. Today, in Russia, Gagarin is still considered one of the nations greatest heroes, and is loved by all. The thick book is Tolstoy's "War and Peace"... YES, THAT'S COMRADE LENIN CARVED INTO THAT PIPE! (Never smoked by the way). A PIPE COLLECTION, STERLING SILVER...Photo to the right shows hallmarks, possibly an expensive collection, it looks like each one has been embellished with Sterling, with the one exception the hand-carved Lenin pipe. A work of art, you can be the first to smoke it! Not sure what the neighbors will say, but if they ask, you can always just say it's Cramer from television! FRONT AND BACK of a very old picture of the extended royal family... The best-known royal family of all, the Windsor's of England, also trace their lineage to the same Germanic royals of the Holy Roman Empire that the Romanov's of Russia also trace their roots to. Few modern people realize what a small clique the business of European Royalty was! Ancient notions of "blue blood" of course reinforced arranged marriages and alliances that have left their mark on the world to this day. By the way, the English monarchs real surname is quite Germanic, Saxe-Coburg-Gothe. It was changed to the more English sounding name of Windsor in 1917 due to anti-German sentiment during World War I. THE ROMANOV'S 1917: Not so long ago, in this pivotal year in history, could anyone have imagined that the once powerful Romanov's of Russia would be dead the following year. Brutally murdered on the night of July 16, 1918, the entire family, along with their doctor, three servants and the family dog, died at the hands of the Bolsheviks. REAL GEMSTONES!! AND REAL PEARLS TOO... YES, THESE ARE GENUINE LOOSE GEMSTONES...Inside a remarkable Faberge-style nesting egg, these gemstones include emerald, sapphire, morganite, rodolite, amatrine, garnet, amethyst, aquamarine, ruby, topaz, citrine, quartz, tourmalines and star sapphires! HUNDREDS of CARATS!! Most appear to be completely natural, ALL are genuine. $15,312.00!! Two pieces of jewelry come with their replacement valuation certificates, and the dollar total is impressive. Several loose gemstones also have valuation certificates as well. Just a single loose gemstone, hundreds of dollars! AMAZING. And there are MANY here, probably over a hundred!! Speaking of Faberge... A wonderful collection of treasures... THE SUPER LIMITED EDITION IMPERIAL FABERGE POCKET WATCH !! This marvelous pocket watch must surely rank as one of the most fabulous Faberge pieces ever made! ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE, NEVER USED, with it's box, COA, papers. Embellished with 24K GOLD plating, and a genuine Sapphire center stone, it comes with an incredible watch stand right out of Fantasy. A "skeleton" arrangement means you can see the watch works right through the glass dial! The heavy gold-plate chain comes with it. Even it's box, blue-satin lined, is to the highest Franklin Mint standards. VERY FEW EXIST, SUPER LIMITED EDITION!!! BRING ON THE WINE!! WHEN YOU ARE CELEBRATING WINNING THIS ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME COLLECTION, be sure to have your Faberge BOTTLE-TOPPER HANDY! It is out of the Imperial Faberge Collection, a blue pine-cone on top of a gold-plated stopper. With it's box and papers of course. NEVER USED!! ONLY 2000 MADE, WORLDWIDE, 1989 THE "5-IN-ONE" GAME TABLE POSSIBLY THE MOST AMBITIOUS FRANKLIN MINT ISSUE, OF ALL TIME!! Most have seen their incredible Monopoly sets, and other limited-edition releases, but you may not recall that back in 1989, The Franklin Mint came out with the Imperial Faberge 5-in-One Game Set, and had collectors falling over themselves to reserve one. ONLY 2,000 WERE EVER RELEASED!! Certainly one of the smallest releases ever, but one of the reasons the popular set never made a comeback was because the tables apparently did not ship very well. Many were damaged in-transit, and it became prohibitively expensive to continue. Today, very, very few sets are complete, as would be expected, but even fewer have preserved their original table. In fact, some went so far as to have tables specially made for the pieces, since no tables ever came available, after waiting literally years for one to come up! Our table, and set really does not appear to have ever been played with. Note the photo of the green rolls in the drawer, the chips have never even been unwrapped! The DOMINOES, covered in heavy 24K gold, are amazing, and we notice that you can find people selling INDIVIDUAL dominoes from this set for as much as $25 EACH (depending upon the number perhaps). NO, we wouldn't recommend breaking these up, they're COMPLETE, never played with! But, it just goes to show you the value people place on these highly desirable works of art, with so few available in the world. The CHESS pieces are stunning! Pick one up, and you will feel the heavy weight! Complete, and also looks as if never played with. The thing we note is that there is no board, perhaps one of the things that never made it during shipping so many years ago, hard to say. Yes, it could be replaced, but we should warn you that it may take some time to find one come available. We were also unable to open one of the drawers. One side drawer is for White, the other for Black chess pieces. But, there is an original box that houses the entire set. Backgammon, also, NEVER USED, even gold and silver pegs are here, and both sets of dice. But it may be that there was originally a peg-board, we don't see it. Perhaps other small things we didn't notice, but this is still largely very well intact, and the playing pieces in unheard of pristine condition. Speaking of condition, the table, as would be expected, is not perfect and does have some issues. Corners, and a couple surface scratches look as if someone attempted a bit of repair, but it doesn't look professional. Still feels quite solid, but probably could easily be cleaned up by anyone who deals with wooden surfaces. See photos below... HUGE GAMING COLLECTION HUNDREDS OF REAL SILVER CASINO LIMITED-EDITION "STRIKES"!! CASINO CHIP COLLECTION, AND MORE!! CASINO ROYALE, GENUINE JAMES BOND $1 MILLION MARKER FROM MOVIE!! WE KID YOU NOT, THIS SUPER RARE PIECE WAS LIKELY HANDLED BY "JAMES BOND" HIMSELF!! MAYBE YOU'VE SEEN THE MOVIE? This is an ACTUAL Million Dollar marker from the movie. Very, very few exist, only a handful were specially made for the production. Surprisingly, it was manufactured to the highest real industry standards, it is a heavy piece! How few of us will ever get to handle one of these! Some high-denomination chips too. NOT QUITE AS RARE, but still very Limited Edition, there is a genuine $100 marker from the very first annual "VegasChips" Poker Tournament! Today, Poker Tournaments are all the rage as the younger generation has discovered the game. This is a real historic piece, sure to climb in collector value in the years to come...ONLY 200 WERE ISSUED!! ABOVE, BABE RUTH, BELOW, BILL COSBY, AND MORE... THE FAMOUS "MARILYN MONROE" SILVER STRIKE INVEST IN .999 SILVER!! If you're not familiar with these, then you are either too young, or weren't frequenting Casinos much over a decade ago when these were being issued by all the best casinos, not only in Las Vegas, but other locations as well. Many are actually marked ".999" silver of course, but even the ones that aren't are still silver. NONE of these are plated, such as perhaps similar looking ones put out by the cruise lines a few years back. These are all SOLID! Although, the rings around are probably not (and plated with 24K gold), it obviously didn't legally stop them from still making the .999 claim. So, call it some "free" gold too! Seriously, these are highly sought after today, not only for their high silver "bullion" value, but because collectors know how scarce many of them are. Virtually all of them are true Limited Editions, and while most will bear the standard $10 denomination, every one of them cost substantially MORE than that! THE ONLY WAY TO GET THESE ORIGINALLY was to WIN it the "hard way", by pumping the slot machines with money! With a Ten Dollar face value, do the "casino math", and then guess how much each of these actually cost on average. It might surprise you! Today, there are issues that are impossible to find, such as the true Marilyn Monroe issue, as an example. Individual coins can often run $50, $100 or more!! HUNDREDS OF THEM!! Just the pure silver value here is tremendous of course, but realize this is not just a typical "accumulation". You can find "collections" here and there, and too often they are comprised of the same common material, repeated. THIS COLLECTION IS VIRTUALLY ALL DIFFERENT!! We have never seen anything like it. Just the original 1980's and 90's acquisition cost probably exceeded $10,000!!! Condition comments: Well taken care of. Plastic protectors scratchy perhaps, as would be expected, and maybe only a few with plastic cracking here and there. Coins themselves appear SUPERB. AND DON'T FORGET THE OLD CASINO CHIP COLLECTION TOO! YOU GET IT ALL!! It's all here, everything you see, some close-ups above so you can get a feel for the kind of stuff here. By the way, some of these casinos no longer exist! In case you don't know, these old chips are highly collectable, with premiums even paid over the original face value, and in some cases significantly more! Collectors can really go crazy over some of the super special releases in this collection, notice how many were special event? If you are a collector, you know how hard it is to find some of these! YOU WILL NOT FIND A COLLECTION LIKE THIS AGAIN PERHAPS IN YOUR LIFETIME! ============================================= PRECIOUS GOLD HOARD... FORTY-THREE Old GOLD Coins Going back to 1786!! LOTS of GOLD...FOR THE TIMES WE LIVE IN! With stock markets crashing around the globe and the threat of banks evaporating (along with our hard-earned money!), who hasn't been thinking about adding some GOLD to their portfolio these days? Even with the recent falls in just about everything, have you noticed how gold is STILL doing relatively well? And take note, the surge in the US dollar over the past month is going to be very temporary. The Fed is still inflating literally like there is no tomorrow, and you don't have to be a prophet to know that this will not end well. This affects everyone who must deal in dollars, and experts agree that the best way to protect yourself, is to OWN GOLD. Gold has maintained it's value for thousands of years, and it's only relatively recently that modern people have "forgotten" how important gold has always been to commerce in the world. Turn off the TV, cut out all that "noise", and just put some money in precious metals. You will even sleep better! ClicPic A FANTASTIC COLLECTION!! Many nations represented, including the US, Russia, England, Switzerland, France, Italy, Mexico and more! There is even one here we have never seen before, it's from...TRANSYLVANIA!! No, we didn't say Pennsylvania. The old 1944 coin is Romanian, and it's an unusual coin, might be a commemorative perhaps. Russian RUBLES, a number of these, they have gone up tremendously in value since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Speaking of, there is a scarce Soviet gold coin as well. While most people probably could guess that gold was used during the time of the Czars, not many know that the Soviet Union also issued gold coins. Has the sickle and hammer right on the back too! The US gold coin looks uncirculated. The 1786 coin is from England. ClicPic MORE GOLD WITH THE CERTIFIED COINS, A FAMOUS "ELIASBERG" SOVEREIGN!! GOLD AT $6,120.00 PER OUNCE!!! This is NOT a fantastical figure at all. Markets are melting down worldwide. In fact, this figure is what gold would still have to reach in order to simply EQUAL the true inflation-adjusted figure that was reached by gold back in 1980. "DO THE MATH": M3 in 1980, $1.8 trillion. M3 in 2007, $13 trillion. To adjust figures from 1980 to see what their 2007 equivalent would be, we need a multiplier. To get that, we take 13 divided by 1.8 = 7.2. Then we multiply by the price of gold. At a conservative $850/ounce, times 7.2, we get $6,120.00! Even if we used the phony CPI figures that have been made useless by political expediency (especially over the past 7 years!), we would still need to reach $2,400 per ounce to simply equal the 1980 high, and some well-known experts are now saying a $10,000 figure is possible! FOLKS, here's the real story: Gold will easily be $3,000.00 by next year. Look into this on your own, and then BUY GOLD NOW, just as all the wealthy are doing. "Waiting" is not an option anymore!! STAMP COLLECTION MORE RUSSIAN... THIS 1981 DIANA WEDDING BOOKLET IS THE ONLY NON-RUSSIAN ITEM IN THE BOOK... COMMEMORATING FAMOUS US / RUSSIAN SPACE COLLABORATION SHEETS, SINGLES... A VERY NICE COLLECTION!! Please NOTE: Stamps are NOT our specialty. Questions? Please ASK! LARGEST HOARD SEEN, in YEARS!!! SIXTY-THOUSAND COINS !!! ***60,000*** + !!!! NOTHING BUT OLD SILVER COINS IN THE HEAVY METAL BOX NOTHING BUT OLD COINS SILVER COINS ALONE: EASILY HUNDREDS of DOLLARS FACE VALUE! CONSERVATIVE ESTIMATE...AN INCREDIBLE HOARD!! VERY INTERESTING HOARD, SOME UNUSUAL COINS... BIG BAGS, NOT EVERYTHING POURED OUT, BUT ALL LOOKS QUITE OLD!! A HUGE VOLUME OF OLD COINS!! YES, MORE COINS THAN WE HAVE SEEN IN ONE LOT, IN YEARS!! What it looks like is mostly WHEAT cents, but if you look closer, there's old Buffalo nickels and Indian cents here too, maybe other stuff as well, NOTHING NEW SEEN, ALL IS OLD! So, HOW MUCH IS HERE??? EXPECT to receive HUNDREDS of POUNDS of Coins, and by weight, we estimate that all together, the coins in this Estate lot add up to over SIXTY-THOUSAND (60,000) coins!! Undoubtedly some good opportunity here! A TURKEY OVEN...JUST IN TIME FOR THANKSGIVING!!! ACTUALLY, IT'S FROM TURKEY. Other than that, can't say much about this one! Looks like something that you could cook in, or is it for incense? The platform it is on is completely metal-covered as well. It would make for a safe place for a fire of course. Or maybe you could just hide a bunch of coins inside! Who would ever look? A very "cool" looking place for your hot coals, it might keep you warm on your deck, under a moonlit sky. And what a conversation piece! -------------------------------- PLEASE NOTE: While going through such a hoard can be very rewarding for a knowledgeable person, we should mention that this can also be very time-consuming! Unless you're prepared, we do NOT recommend the average person bidding on a hoard this large. FOR the ART LOVER... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* KANDINSKY... Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) Wassily (also, "Vasily") Kandinsky was a pioneer of abstraction in art. An accomplished musician as well, his work is often said to be multidimensional in the sense that his abstract forms evoke "sounds", depicted visually. His work enjoys a wide respect, but collectors have been hampered by the fact that Kandinsky was not nearly as prolific as many of his contemporaries. Action record for this artist, Sotheby's, 1998, Composition V, was purchased by Estee Lauder Chairman Ronald Lauder for... $40 MILLION DOLLARS!!! DATED 1909...Our piece is dated "-09" (lower right), and signed "Kandinsky". It is old, this could be an incredible find, and it is original, not a mechanical reproduction of any kind. Bold bright colors, a crescent moon that also seems to be a portal perhaps...If we were to guess, this has something of the stage-set to it, perhaps because all of life is a stage, and we all merely players and portrayers. It's an exciting piece, it almost feels like it's blazing, with flames suggested to the left, the same direction the figures face. The symbolism here is rich, and the more one looks at it, the more you think of. The frame is probably circa 1950's, with a more recent matting. There is no glass, but absolutely no sign of damage, if there ever was glass here, it must have been removed carefully. It could use UV protection, because if displayed, it could begin to fade, and that would be a terrible shame for such a vibrant work of art. REGARDING VALUE, more research should be done certainly, but it is a fabulous piece, there is incredible potential here. Be aware, be an informed bidder, artwork is an area where much knowledge is necessary in order to make definitive judgments. We are certainly not qualified to make them, please bid accordingly. Certainly, this may be a real find, hard to determine value, but speaking of value, here is an interesting tidbit in the news recently... "PAINTING VALUED AT $3,000 SELLS FOR $4.5 MILLION..." Perhaps you read the recent AP article with this title. If not, please look it up, it is by Thomas Wagner, reporting from London, it is well-worth reading. The article says that "experts" had valued a painting a only $3,078, but when it went to auction, it sold for $4.5 million!! Why? Because true art collectors don't really trust what "experts" say (who often intentionally devalue a piece, with the secret intention of purchasing it themselves, at a huge discount!) But sophisticated art investors will pay top-dollar for the right pieces. These are folks that have money to burn, and if they like a piece, they have the means to pay, and will not allow anyone else to take it from them! THIS is reality in the world of Fine Art, and it is the best reason to INVEST in quality original pieces. PLEASE keep this in mind as you evaluate our offerings! IN GENERAL: One other important point we should be clear about regarding original artwork. Pieces may indeed be fully original, definitely not mechanical repros or prints, and even exhibit a proper signature of a famous artist, but it is not always easy to determine if a particular piece was indeed executed by that artist. Further, expert opinions are often just that...opinions, so be aware of that when formulating your bids. Do your own research when possible, be an informed bidder. Ask questions well before bidding ends please. =================================================== Historic Original Painting, Vladimir Lenin Another entirely ORIGINAL piece, dated on the reverse, "1957", and possibly signed by the artist, we don't know for certain, it is a Cyrillic inscription. This remarkable oil painting is no hack job, it is a superb example, and it may literally have hung in the halls of power when Khrushchev famously was pounding his shoe on the podium and declaring they would "bury" us. Well, thankfully, it hasn't quite happened yet! Anyway, a couple years ago it appears to have been sent to Russia for authentication and / or certification of it's history. The letter, entirely in Russian is certainly included, although we have absolutely no idea what it says! A photo of the artwork is attached, and official stamps and signatures are one both letter, and the reverse of the photo. Condition, could possibly use some touch-up here and there, it has been rolled for decades, but it is in overall good condition. A fantastic piece of history, and if you are one of the few who really appreciates how important this piece is, don't let it slip away from you! COA is included ======================================================== Framed Prints... SOME LOVELY OLD FRAMED PIECES. Includes the famous Rembrandt that begins this section, the one that should make every monarch pause to contemplate those who have gone before, including the fery first "Czar", which simply means Caesar. Then there is the harp player, and her sister who looks on. The entire composition brings back an age gone by, when well-to-do ladies still wore their incredible gowns as they lounged around their stately mansions. (And why not, it's not as if these genteel mademoiselles are about to get themselves dirty, they have maids to do that for them!) A nice pair of ballet dancers... PLEASE DO NOT PASS UP THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY!! COMPLETE COIN COLLECTIONS EISENHOWER DOLLAR COLLECTION DOESN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THIS! A very under-appreciated coin, but the Eisenhower ("Ike") Dollar was the last time the traditional, large-size dollar coin circulated. A relatively short series, perhaps some collectors don't realize that there were SILVER issues, and Proof issues as well, making this collection larger than one would think. This handsome album has them ALL. Actually, a tough collection this nice, probably the best we've seen. Take a look at the pics! COMPLETE FRANKLIN HALF-DOLLAR COLLECTION!!! FROM 1948 - 1963, YOU GET THEM ALL! Franklin Half Dollars are a series that is destined for greatness. Few appreciate the fact that this coin was never minted in great quantities to begin with, and then something happened to make the coin even scarcer! In 1980, as silver exceeded $50 per ounce, dealers across the nation began throwing these and other coins into bags headed for the melting pots. At that time, the Franklin wasn't considered "rare" compared to other coins, and so the decision was made to simply melt them. Today, the miniscule mintages originally reported by the Mint are IRRELEVANT, since surviving quantities cannot be known reliably. It's sufficient to note that these are coins that have great investment potential. Conditions: We note that the later dates in this collection are extremely nice, see the photos! SILVER WASHINGTON QUARTER COLLECTION!!! FROM 1932 - 1964, INCLUDING BOTH RARE KEY DATES, 1932-D & S! A VERY popular set! Since the state quarter program began, lots of new collectors have started collecting quarters. The problem is that these new collectors soon find out that they are almost never going to see a SILVER quarter in circulation anymore, and so their Washington sets can only go back to 1965. Get this COMPLETE silver set, this may be the only way to ever finish up your Washington quarters! CERTIFIED COIN COLLECTION In this Lot, Over ONE-HUNDRED (100!) Professionally Graded and Certified Coins... These coins are unbelievable quality! Coin after coin, are virtually the highest graded coin possible. And, we should emphasize, especially for those not familiar with coins, almost all of them have been certified by the TOP grading companies around, with THREE-QUARTERS of them graded by thee TOP company, PCGS! There are NO "NTC", NO "ACG", etc. Each coin is superbly beautiful, NOT ONE exhibiting "problems". This is NOT second-rate dealer overstock, it is a solid investment portfolio. A more detailed listing will appear below for those interested, but here are some highlights: RARE MINT-STATE U.S. MORGAN DOLLARS! The world's most collected coin, and with good reason. Big beautiful silver dollars, often hard to find in better conditions, have proved to be an incredible investment. Our old timer here tells me that back in the early 1960's, dealers might have bags of them laying around, and they would let you pick one out for maybe an extra 20 cents over face value. A buck-twenty?? And at their peak, a regular, common-date MS65 commanded $1,000.00! MS65!! It's tough to find them graded this high, especially in old PCGS holders. The value can really move up fast since these old-holder coins often get a "bump up" in grade. Just one grade up can easily DOUBLE the value, or more!! Look these up, don't just take our word for it. Now, perhaps more than ever, is an excellent time to invest in premium examples of this series. OMAHA BANK HOARD!! It's right on the PCGS holder, these are out of the the famous hoard discovered some years ago. Excellent investment! ELIASBERG!! Probably the most well-known name in numismatics, this wealthy banker retains the distinction of being the only person ever to have collected EVERY coin ever minted by the United States! What may not be as well-known were his many foreign gold coins that he collected. Note that the name Eliasberg appears right on the holder, an excellent pedigreed gold coin, over 100 years old! Certified NGC Pedigreed Gold! Great for collectors and investors alike. A WORD ABOUT CERTIFIED COIN VALUES: A seasoned coin collector or dealer may want skip this section, but for the rest, this may help in determining values more consistent with reality. Unfortunately, there is much misinformation concerning this topic. While pcgs.com is regarded as a very reliable place to check values, it must be remembered that those values are for coins that THEY certify. If another grading service has been used, typically, the values MUST be considered to be LOWER. How much lower? That depends on the service. Coin dealers use a newsletter known as the "gray sheet" or CDN (Coin Dealer Newsletter) to find values more in line with wholesale. You may never be shown this if you ventured into your local coin shop. However, it is useful for our purposes here. In a "box" on the front page, statistics are kept about the top grading services. For example, PCGS and NGC usually get between 85 94% of their listed values. They are somewhat regarded as a benchmark in excellence. Another important factor to consider, coins in old "green" PCGS holders can be worth MORE than 100% of listed values, because they are so likely to be upgraded these days. Note that we have good examples of this in our collection here. Definitely coins to resubmit! Please keep these things in mind as you make your evaluations. If possible, do your own research, be an informed bidder. Incredible potential here! SOME HIGHLIGHTS... There's MORE! We wish we had more time to describe it all in detail, but you have already been very patient with this long listing, THANK YOU. Just a few comments near the photos to help you with what you're seeing... CLOCK & CANDELABRA SET Interesting set, has seen some action over the years, looks like a bit of repair here and there, but the old French clock movement (probably at least a century old) runs well. As usual, it couldn't hurt to have it cleaned professionally for optimum time-keeping, but it seems to be in excellent shape. The round looking shape above is the bell, it dings on the hour, and half-hour. PENDULUM DRIVEN, HAS IT'S WINDING KEY TOO... Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All !! Yes, it's just about that time of year again. Some interesting things here, including a small Russian toy horse on wheels, hand-painted of course. The "skis" are small, for a child, they just strap-on. More playing cards, in vintage style Coca Cola tin, 1950's Santa Claus image, excellent condition. There are three Nutcrackers, a couple look quite new, but one tall one is older, has a bit of paint missing from his nose, top of crown. The various tree ornaments you see here and there, all included of course. Old "Department 56" Bag Piper, has it's Box too... ------------------------------------------------------------------- Massive LIMOGES, 44 inches Tall !! An exceptional piece, perfect condition, with fabulous golden metal handles, and a golden metal footed base. It is marked "Limoges", along with something else in French. It gives the impression of black, or deep navy perhaps, but with the gold, you would be hard-pressed to find more elegance in one place. Measuring approximately 44 inches tall, it is a highly impressive quality work of art suitable for that special place in your home. Our photos simply do not do this piece justice... THIS OLD VASE HAS A NUMBER ON THE BOTTOM, VERY LIGHT... ANOTHER LOVELY EGG, IT OPENS TOO... LIDDED POT, PROBABLY CIRCA 1880's...LOVELY WEDGWOOD AWESOME!! Another Deck of cards, looks like 1940's... Old "Le Cochon" (The Pig), velvet pin cushion back... KENNEDY ASSASSINATION, HISTORIC NEWSPAPERS MORE HISTORY: REAGAN, GORBACHEV...THE BERLIN WALL COMES DOWN!!! POLITICAL SATIRE... PRINCESS DIANA She came into our hearts, and we loved her. She was taken from us, and many still grieve in some ways. The tragic untimely death of Princess Di struck the world like thunder. Around the globe, most reacted first with stunned disbelief, and then sadness. Many of us remember exactly where we were when we heard the news. This small collection of "royalty" magazines each has Diana as their main focus, long before her death. Interestingly, a couple of them also mention Russia, and the British royal family's cousins, the Romanov's. Some of the photos of Diana in these pages we have never seen before. Of course, these Diana issues are today almost impossible to obtain, even in England, due to her unprecedented popularity. You likely will not find them anywhere else! ------------------------------------------- OLD PHOTOS And Even More...Some interesting items...remember, not all was photographed, don't be surprised when you get nice items you never saw in our photos! Call them a "bonus" if you will, but sometimes there are some very neat things that we miss while taking photos, but we still send it all along to you! An excellent lot, not just some great fun, but also some serious opportunity here for the right person!! До свиданья Da-svi-da-niya (Dasvidania)... THANKS FOR LOOKING!! As you can see, this is a tremendous lot, incredible potential value, but there can be ONLY ONE winner. PLEASE. If you want the lot, do not wait until the last minute to bid! Last year, we had an auction that ended far lower than anyone anticipated. Afterwards, we received quite a few emails reporting that there was a "technical" problem on eBay, and that they "tried" to bid (at the last minute!), but pages wouldn load, etc. YES, this sort of thing happens! We even had a person email telling us that his "snipe" bid didn go through! All we can tell you is that the best "defense" against this happening to you is to simply put in your bid in enough time. At least youl be "in the game"! Otherwise, you might be taking a chance, and this kind of thing may NEVER come around again! GOOD LUCK! Legal Blurb, Jurisdiction: In the event of a legal dispute, winner agrees to abide by the laws of the State of Idaho, which it is agreed govern this transaction. Court Costs, Attorney's Fees: In the event of a lawsuit decided in a court of law, both parties agree that the loser will pay the other party's court costs and attorney's fees. Final Words: We hope you have enjoyed viewing this wonderful estate, and we thank you for your time. Please note, as this is a FINAL LIQUIDATION, ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND THERE ARE NO RETURNS. Also "escrow service" is not available, due to the nature of this lot. Escrows are often effective with single items of higher value, and they certainly have a place, but here we have too much that has not been gone through in detail, and we would have no way of ensuring that the lot would remain intact. If you are not comfortable with this, we respectfully request that you refrain from bidding.
